A Little Bit About me

Early life

Nivedita Basu was born in New Delhi. Her father, Prateek Basu was an ex-Army officer and mother Rita Basu is a national-level Table Tennis and handball player. She has an elder sister, Sonali Basu Tyagi.

Career

Nivedita joined Balaji Telefilms in 2000. By 2004 she was deputy creative director, and she became Ekta Kapoor's second, determining the fates of the characters of soaps Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She also worked on the series

Producer

Nivedita turned producer in 2015 and owns a celebrity cricket team (Kolkata Baabu Moshayes) on the television reality show Box Cricket League

09/2015 – Present

Developing web series for International/ Indian platforms and producing television content for top Hindi GEC's . Successfully completed 2 flagship shows for ZEE AND, with a stellar film and theater cast for MERI AWAZ HI PEHCHAAN HAI. Produced 35mm , a short film with Oscar winning cast of Neeraj Kabi (SHIP OF THESEUS- 2013) and Priyanka Bose (LION- 2016)

Balaji Telefilms Ltd

03/2000 – 08/2015

Created more than 2,00,000 minutes of programming for the top Indian GEC's namely Star, Zee entertainment, Sony, Channel Nine, 9X, Imagine TV and SAB TV to name a few. Boosted ratings of 90 percent of shows in the company despite limited promotional tools. Made the television division a profit making unit with an increase of almost 200 percent in revenue for every show.

Anil Kapoor Film Company

2013

Developed and executed the Indian adaptation of the American series 24 for Colors, with Anil Kapoor playing Keifer Sutherland and Directed by Delhi Belly fame, Abhinay Deo
